Royal Mail Group in Wembley is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) on a fixed-term contract for 6 months. You will sort mail, deliver by van and on foot, and build relationships with customers on a 30-hour-per-week rotating schedule across Monday to Sunday.

You must hold a full manual UK driving licence, be willing to drive a Royal Mail van, and pass a driving assessment. The role is outdoor and physically demanding with overtime and weekend work.

Job type: Fixed Term contract 6 Months

Salary: £16.24 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.
Working hours: 30:00hours per week - working 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday - 07:45/14:30

You’ll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

What to expect

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily

• Busy, time-pressured days, especially during peak periods

About you

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
