Job summary

BBC Group is offering a Post Production Technical Operator Apprenticeship (Level 4) in Bristol for 16 months as part of the Extend programme. It targets non‑graduates and includes hands‑on post‑production work across ingest hubs, galleries, studios, and on location, with learning supported by the National Film and Television School.

You’ll study for an industry‑recognised qualification, work towards practical skills in audio/vision engineering, IP networks and related tech, and gain experience

Qualifications

• Passion for media content and the technical production side of how that content reaches the audience.
• Can work calmly under pressure.
• Fascinated by how things work.
• Brilliant organisational skills and are great at problem-solving.
• Enthusiastic self-starter, flexible and adaptable to out-of-hours working.

Responsibilities

• Support the editing and preparation of content for a range of BBC platforms and audiences.
• Digitise, organise and manage media assets throughout the production workflow.
• Deliver transmission files to playout providers, ensuring content is ready for broadcast and systems are maintained accurately.
• Develop strong teamwork and communication skills while collaborating with colleagues across post‑production and wider BBC departments.
• Gain hands‑on experience with industry‑standard tools, processes and technologies within a fast‑paced production environment.
