Post Office Manager - Harrogate

Location: The Co-operative Food, Jennyfield Drive, Harrogate, HG3 2XQ
Salary: £28,372 per annum plus great benefits
Contract: Permanent

We're looking for a Post Office Manager to join our team in Harrogate. As part of a strong product offering in our food stores, we also provide a great post office service in over 350 stores across the country. Our branches are integral to both our business and the local community.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, inspire and develop a team of post office clerks.
  • Ensure the branch is safe, legal and operational, complying with all regulatory procedures.
  • Report on balance, cash and sales.
  • Drive commercial growth, engaging the team and communicating performance.
  • Model great customer service for colleagues.
  • Build enthusiasm with your team and develop external relationships and community involvement.
  • Support and build strong working relationships with colleagues in the food store.
Qualifications
  • Previously worked in a post office, managing legal compliance.
  • Experience working in a fast‑paced customer‑service environment, preferably in retail.
  • Proven experience managing or supervising a team, focusing on development and performance.
  • Knowledge of Horizon system (e.g., cash and stock control systems, workforce planning tools).
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Focus on continuous improvement while managing a budget.
  • A real passion for working with the local community.
