A charitable organization in Halifax is seeking compassionate support workers to assist individuals with learning disabilities. The Mayfield Trust is a long-established charity based in Calderdale, dedicated to supporting people with learning disabilities to live life to the fullest. Since 1952, we have pioneered inclusive, person-led services in our community – from supported living, LD nursing care and outreach, to community based day opportunities and a thriving activity centre.
We are proud to be the first charity in Calderdale to offer this kind of support, and our approach remains rooted in promoting choice, independence, and meaningful experiences. We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all care: our staff receive in-house training and use responsive, individualised methods tailored to each person’s needs and aspirations.
Hours: 12‑hour shifts on a rota basis, covering a 24‑hour support service across 7 days a week.
Pay: £13.94 per hour
Full and part‑time hours available (minimum 24 hrs per week)
To provide compassionate, person‑led support to individuals who may experience emotional distress or have diverse communication and support needs, ensuring their safety and well‑being. Working closely with night staff for continuity of care, this role is part of our Intensive Support Team, working in partnership with individuals, families, and professionals to create safe, meaningful, and empowering environments. You will use Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and trauma‑informed approaches to help people live purposeful lives, build relationships, and achieve personal goals.
