Qualifications

Salary: £26,888-£33,500 PA (Plus a £500 bonus on completion of probation)

Hours: Mon to Friday - 9am-5pm (Part Time options Available)

Annual Leave: 25 Days plus Bank Holidays

Note: This role is also known as Senior Support Worker

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide both Behaviour Analytic and Positive Behaviour Support to learners
  • Support Learners participation in social, leisure and educational activities within the local community
  • Encourage and enabling learners development in all aspects of their life skills
  • Facilitate and enhance learners decision-making abilities, whilst promoting choice and evolvement to increase their potential for reaching independence
  • Collate, record and analyse data to monitor progress and enhance the development of learning programmes
  • Support the Team Leader with the line management of the team including, preparing and participating in staff reviews, training, observations and preparation of staffing rotas
  • Mentor both new and current team members
  • Undertake study and training to develop personal knowledge of Autism and Behaviour Analysis
  • Encourage and enable learners to maintain acceptable levels of personal and environmental hygiene

  • Further training in Positive Behaviour Support training (CAPBS coaches programme and AIBI PBS competency framework)
  • PROACT SCRIPr UK Behaviour Management (Instructor Training)
  • Access to Jigsaw Trust Line Management Training Modules
  • MSc in Applied Behavioural Analysis worth £13,000 (Curriculum and Instruction in High Incidence Disabilities) or (Applied Behaviour Analysis)
  • BCBA Status (Board Certified Behaviour Analyst advanced training) )-UKBA(Cert) (Highest level of qualification from the UK society for Behaviour Analysis)
  • Support and regular supervision from some of the UKs leading and internationally recognised Behaviour Analytic experts
What will you need to apply for the Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner role?
  • Knowledge and Experience Hands on knowledge and experience of delivering Positive Behaviour Support and or Applied Behaviour Analysis
  • Proven experience of working in an adult social care community-based service or similar setting
  • Experience of working with people with intellectual disabilities, autism and / or complex needs
  • Experience of mentoring staff, managing performance and delivering training
  • Experience of developing / designing / delivering ABA programmes in an educational, care or community settings (desirable but not essential)
  • Skills Comfortable working with adults who exhibit behaviours that challenge and providing personal and intimate care where required
  • An ability to keep detailed records and reports, and produce accurate graph data
  • An empathetic, positive can-do attitude with the ability to maintaining confidentiality and discretion
  • The ability to work as part of a team and communicate confidently at all levels of the organisation to build rapport and positive working relationships with all stakeholders
  • The ability to work independently 1 to 1 in the community
Desirable Training and Qualifications
  • Completed Care Certificate
  • NVQ / QCF Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Adults)
  • Recognised training in Positive Behaviour Support such as the CAPBS coaches programme and or AIBI levels including Supervising Competency from the PBS competency framework
  • A desire to undertake on-going professional development and training in Autism, Behaviour Analysis, Positive Behaviour Support and Active Support
