Job description

Job Description:
Your Impact

Ready to make an impact? Join Leonardo UK and help shape the future of defence and aerospaceworking on the once-in-a-generation programme delivering sixth-generation air capability.

We're looking for a Portfolio Reporting Lead to play a pivotal role in providing visibility, insight, and assurance across a complex portfolio of programmes and projects.

This is far more than a reporting role. You'll be at the centre of portfolio performance, transforming data from across the business into meaningful insights that help senior leaders and customers understand how the portfolio is performing, where risks and opportunities exist, and where action is needed.

Working with programme teams, functional leads, finance, project controls, and senior stakeholders, you'll help shape decision‑making through high‑quality reporting and analysis. You'll be responsible for ensuring that both internal leadership teams and external customers receive accurate, timely, and valuable information that drives confidence and supports successful delivery.

If you're passionate about turning complex information into clear, compelling insight and enjoy working in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment where your work genuinely influences outcomes, we'd love to hear from you.

What you'll do

As our Portfolio Reporting Lead, you will:

  • Lead the delivery of portfolio‑level reporting for both internal governance and external customer requirements.
  • Bring together information from multiple programmes, projects, and business functions to provide a clear, joined‑up view of portfolio performance.
  • Analyse performance data to identify trends, emerging risks, opportunities, and areas requiring management attention.
  • Develop insightful dashboards, reporting packs, and visualisations that support effective decision‑making.
  • Work closely with programme managers, finance teams, project controls, and PMO colleagues to improve reporting quality and consistency.
  • Provide assurance on the accuracy and integrity of portfolio data, challenging assumptions where necessary.
  • Support the delivery of customer reporting commitments, ensuring contractual requirements and deadlines are met.
  • Drive continuous improvement through automation, standardisation, and simplification of reporting processes.
  • Present key insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders, helping them make informed decisions and take proactive action.
What You’ll Bring

You’ll likely have experience in portfolio, programme, PMO, project controls, or performance reporting environments and be comfortable working with large volumes of data from multiple sources.

We’re particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate:

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate data into meaningful business insight.
  • Experience producing complex portfolio or programme reporting.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • A proactive approach to problem‑solving and continuous improvement.
  • Advanced capability in reporting and visualisation tools such as Power BI and Excel.
  • High levels of attention to detail and a commitment to data quality.
  • The confidence to challenge information constructively and influence decision‑making.
Security Clearance

This role is subject to pre‑employment screening in line with the UK Government’s Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). An additional range of Personnel Security Controls referred to as National Security Vetting (NSV) may apply, this could include meeting the eligibility requirements for The Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV).
