The role

As a Portfolio Delivery Manager, you’ll be at the heart of projects that protect national security and advance engineering excellence. You’ll lead risk management strategies that ensure mission‑critical programmes are delivered safely on time and to the highest standards. This is a role where your decisions make a real difference to our customers, to society and to your own career growth.

  • Ensure compliance with governance frameworks and industry standards.
  • Provide clear reporting and actionable insights to senior leadership.
  • Champion continuous improvement in risk management practices.

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2‑3 days in the office/onsite and 2‑3 days working from home.

Essential experience of the Portfolio Delivery Manager

  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder engagement and problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong understanding of ISO 31000 or equivalent risk management frameworks.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively within cross‑functional teams in fast‑paced environments.
Qualifications for the Portfolio Delivery Manager
  • Degree‑level education preferred, or demonstrable experience in business change disciplines.
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., MoP, PMP, PgMP, PRINCE2, P3O) considered an advantage.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
