Job summary

Places for People is hiring a Porter to join the on-site team in London. Working 8:30am to 12:30pm, 4 hours daily, you will help keep the development safe, well-presented and welcoming for residents and visitors.

You will support site security, health and safety checks, assist residents, and collaborate with the House Manager, cleaning teams and operations colleagues to keep day-to-day running smoothly. The role is customer-focused with a commitment to safeguarding and inclusive recruitment

Qualifications

• Experience in building services such as concierge or caretaking.
• Emergency First Aid qualification (or willingness to obtain).
• Experience in a customer-facing, on-site role.
• Ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
• Clear and confident communication skills.
• Basic working knowledge of IT systems.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day site security and monitor access.
• Assist with health and safety compliance checks.
• Be a visible on-site presence and assist residents and visitors.
• Support the on-site cleaning team with tasks.
• Work with operations to ensure information sharing.
• Respond to incidents or emergencies per procedures.
• Contribute to a positive customer experience.
• Provide daily information to the Property Manager.

Job description

We're recruiting for a Porter to join our on-site team, working during the day to help ensure the development remains safe, well-presented and welcoming for residents and visitors.

This is a visible, service-focused role where you'll support site security, carry out health and safety checks, assist residents when needed and work closely with the House Manager, cleaning teams and wider operations colleagues to ensure smooth day-to-day running of the site.

Monday to Friday 8.30am to 12.30pm ( 4 hours per day )

What you'll be doing

• Supporting day-to-day site security and monitoring access as required
• Assisting with health and safety compliance checks across the development
• Being a visible presence on site and assisting residents and visitors when needed
• Supporting the on-site cleaning team with additional tasks as directed
• Working closely with the operations team to ensure accurate information sharing
• Responding appropriately to incidents or emergencies in line with procedures
• Contributing to a positive, professional customer experience across the development
• Providing information to the Property Manager on a daily basis
