Here at P&O Ferries we are seeking an Port Operative as part of a job shareto join our team here in Cairnryan on apermanent basis.

This is an opportunity to work as part of the operations team helping to safely assist with mooring operations, Safely and efficiently load and unload freight pieces and trade vehicles, assist the port operatives with the day to day tasks involved in the role.

The successful candidate will have a proven record in driving HGV’s and experience working in a similar setting. The role is based in Cairnryan, this role is on a job share basis. The role will include working 2 on 6 averaging 18.5hrs per week as part of a job share with a peer.

Key responsibilities and duties:

  • Safe mooring and let go of ships
  • Safe loading and unloading of freight pieces
  • Operating heavy equipment (Tugmasters/Forklifts/Coaches)
  • Team Coordination
  • Completing vehicle checks
  • Safety compliance

The ideal candidate will

  • Have previous experience in the operations sector
  • Hold a current HGV license
  • Have experience in the port and be familiar with current SSOWs

Location – Cairnryan, this role operates on a 2 on 6 off schedule averaging 18.5hrs per week.
