A health intelligence organization in the UK is looking for a Population Health Intelligence Apprentice. This full-time role offers a 3-year fixed-term position with a Level 7 Health & Care Intelligence Specialist apprenticeship. Central to this is the ability to establish an intelligence function that provides robust data and evidence on our populations to help us improve their outcomes. The Population Health Intelligence Apprentice will play an important role in ensuring we use the data and information at our disposal to understand our population so that we can tailor services and interventions that will help to deliver the best possible outcomes in BSW.
This role is a 3‑year fixed‑term position that includes a 22‑Month Level 7 Health & Care Intelligence Specialist apprenticeship training programme. The post-holder will be supported to complete their apprenticeship within their working hours, whilst working within the Strategic Intelligence Team and being exposed to work experiences, tasks, and projects that will help them meet their apprenticeship competencies.
This role will support the development of regular analysis, insights, and reporting on the BSW population, with a focus on population health, health inequalities, evaluation and patient interaction with NHS services.
The post-holder will be enthusiastic, self‑motivated, dynamic, and conscientious. Existing knowledge and experience of analyst/intelligence tasks/techniques is likely to be relevant, but not essential.
The successful candidate is required to be in post by the 15th of December, with the apprenticeship programme starting 19th of December.
Establish good working relationships and methods of communication with managers and leaders allowing analytical work to be delivered/presented and managed effectively.
Develop and deliver analysis to support understanding of the populations served by different subsets of the BSW system. To produce detailed analysis to highlight impact of BSW ICB programmes on the BSW population.
With support and direction, perform advanced data and statistical analysis, data visualisation, and employ data‑storytelling using specialist tools such as PowerBI/SQL.
Work closely with customers and users of analysis to develop a clear perspective of their needs, issues and drivers – and to communicate this clearly across the relevant parts of the BSW system.
Use personal initiative and innovation in the delivery of tasks, analysis, reports, and projects.
Manage competing priorities, and personal organisation of apprenticeship competencies.
