Job summary

Pineapple is seeking a Sourcing Specialist to join our polymers and advanced manufacturing team in Aylesford, Kent. You will identify, evaluate and onboard suppliers, source polymer materials and components, and lead supplier negotiations to support new product development.

You’ll build strong supplier relationships, assess capabilities and risks, and collaborate with Materials, Design and NPD teams to turn concepts into manufacturable products.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent practical experience in Polymer Science, Manufacturing, Engineering, Product Design, or Supply Chain.
• Experience sourcing and supplier development in a manufacturing environment, ideally polymers.
• Strong understanding of polymer materials and manufacturing processes (injection moulding, rotational moulding, extrusion, blow moulding, and thermoforming).
• Experience working with suppliers and manufacturers, assessing capabilities and challenging technical information where required.
• Willingness to travel to supplier sites in the UK and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate and onboard suppliers to support new product development and manufacturing requirements.
• Source polymer materials, moulded components and finished products for new and existing ranges.
• Lead supplier RFQs, capability assessments, sample reviews, and negotiations.
• Assess supplier capabilities, manufacturing processes, technical expertise, quality systems and capacity.
• Work with Materials, Design, Engineering and NPD teams to identify manufacturing solutions for new products.
• Coordinate supplier visits, audits, development meetings and technical reviews.
• Build and maintain a strong supplier pipeline across polymers and processes including rotational moulding, injection moulding, blow moulding and extrusion.
• Manage multiple sourcing and supplier-development projects, ensuring milestones, risks and deadlines are communicated and delivered.
