Pollution Team Leader - EH0316
Overview

Full Time – 37 hours, Monday to Friday

We are seeking a highly experienced, motivated and results driven individual to lead the Pollution Team and deliver quality services to our residents and businesses. Possessing an extensive knowledge of the relevant legislation, codes of practice and guidance, you will ensure that the council undertakes and meets all relevant and associated obligations associated with pollution control and public health related issues.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the Pollution Team and deliver quality services to residents and businesses.
  • Ensure the council undertakes and meets all relevant pollution control and public health obligations.
  • Develop and apply extensive knowledge of legislation, codes of practice and guidance in areas including statutory nuisance, air quality, public health functions including drainage and public welfare burials, LAPPC, contaminated land, private water supplies.
  • Provide supervision and leadership for the team, with opportunities to develop into a more senior role.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and build and maintain effective relationships with officers, members and other key stakeholders and partners to resolve problems.
  • Demonstrate a track record of dealing with complex cases, contribute to business process improvement, and lead by example.
  • Work in a hybrid style of working (home and office-based) to suit the work/life balance of the successful applicant.
Essential qualifications and experience

You should hold a qualification in Environmental Health and have detailed knowledge and experience in work areas including statutory nuisance, air quality, public health functions including drainage and public welfare burials, LAPPC, contaminated land, private water supplies. Experience in a supervisory role is desirable, but support is available for someone taking their first step into a more senior position.
