Job summary

Milltown Partners LLP seeks a Consultant specializing in policy communications to advise technology clients across the UK and Europe. Your role centers on shaping regulatory narratives through media, campaigns and narrative strategy, moving public opinion and engaging policymakers.

We’re looking for 4+ years’ advisory experience in communications with a track record in tech policy, proactive media work, and translating complex policy into accessible stories for diverse audiences.

Qualifications

• At least 4 years' advisory experience in communications with knowledge of technology policy or regulation
• Strong knowledge of the media and public policy landscape across the EU and UK
• Ability to take a strategic approach to communications challenges and opportunities
• Experience communicating complex topics to non-technical audiences
• Experience proactively building journalist relationships, pitching stories and placing earned media
• Experience building advisory relationships with different stakeholders to deliver strategic counsel and insight
• Experience working on integrated creative campaigns to shift perceptions or achieve policy outcomes
• Project management experience with clear goals, timelines and budgets
• Practical use of AI tools in a professional advisory context
• Experience managing a team and delegating work to appropriate levels
• Curiosity to develop subject matter expertise and share knowledge with colleagues
• Commitment to an inclusive culture and collaboration
• Experience advising organisations at the technology frontier

Responsibilities

• Shape policy communications strategy by translating technical concepts into compelling narratives for diverse audiences
• Advise clients directly with written materials, meetings and high-pressure moments
• Use AI tools to generate insights and deliver high-quality outputs
• Drive client work with clear project plans and delivery against deadlines
• Contribute to business development and identify opportunities for clients
• Foster a collaborative, inclusive team environment and share feedback constructively
