The Policy Advisor will be responsible for developing, implementing, and reviewing HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with legislation, alignment with best practice, and support for the organisation's vision and culture. The role involves working collaboratively with stakeholders, including trade unions, and engaging with external bodies to share knowledge and influence positive change.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and update HR policies and procedures in line with legal requirements, best practice, and organisational objectives
  • Lead the review of existing policies through a structured schedule, identifying gaps and recommending improvements
  • Work closely with stakeholders, including trade unions, to achieve agreement and ensure effective communication
  • Collaborate with external bodies to share knowledge and best practice
  • Support managers by providing clear policy guidance, advice, and training
  • Stay up to date with changes in employment legislation and HR practices to maintain organisational compliance and relevance

The successful candidate will have proven experience in writing HR and policy documents, with a strong understanding of employment legislation. They will have excellent analytical and communication skills, enabling confident engagement at all levels of the organisation. The role also requires someone who is detail‑oriented, highly organised, and capable of managing multiple priorities effectively.
