Become a Police Officer in our B Division. We are recruiting for Police Officers at Colchester, Southend, Luton, Stevenage, Brighton, Ashford and Maidstone.
As a Police Officer with the British Transport Police, you’ll play a vital role in protecting millions of passengers, staff and the public. Your duties will include visible patrolling, responding to emergencies, conducting criminal investigations, gathering intelligence and building trust with the communities we serve. You will also tackle serious and organised crime, address graffiti, theft and public reassurance.
You don’t need prior policing experience – just the drive to make a difference and the confidence to handle a wide range of situations. You will receive training and support from day one and can grow into specialisms such as CID, Counter Terrorism, the Dog Unit, tackling County Lines or other areas.
Applying is straightforward; all applications are completed online. As part of the process you will be required to complete a Situational Judgement Test (SJT). If you do not pass the SJT, your application will not progress further at this time, though you can re‑apply in the future once the re‑application period allows. We recommend attending a Q&A session ahead of submitting an application. All available sessions can be found here: Discover your future in Policing: Join our Info & Q&A.
We support work‑life balance with 26 weeks of fully paid maternity leave, plus a variety of other leave options – like special leave, carers leave, paternity leave and more. Because looking after our people matters.
