Being a police officer is less about formal qualifications and more about the skills you already possess—skills that are developed through your daily experiences.
These skills are gained from your previous jobs, community involvement, friendships, family, and personal values.
During the police officer selection process, we look for these skills, and our comprehensive training programmes will help you develop them further. They will enable you to confidently uphold the law and make a positive impact on the people, places, and communities of Scotland.
If you are over 18 years old, physically fit, have lived in the UK for at least three years at the time of application, and hold a manual driving licence, you may already possess the skills we are looking for.
