Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is recruiting for healthcare professionals to deliver detainee care within the police custody environment. Requirements include nursing registration (RN/RGN or RMN with dual registration) and two years post-qualification patient-facing experience.

You will work in custody suites with round-the-clock coverage, under a fixed rota that supports full-time or part-time shifts across regions, while ensuring high-quality care and compliance with vetting processes.

Qualifications

• RN, RGN or RMN with dual registration. 2 years post-qualification in a patient-facing role.
• 2 years post-qualification experience in a patient-facing role within a relevant clinical setting.
• Must have RTW, British Passport or ILR for 3 years + no gaps out of country more than 3 months
• All candidates will be subject to Police Vetting

Responsibilities

• Deliver healthcare to detainees in custody suites in collaboration with the Police.
• Provide round-the-clock healthcare coverage in custody suites, in line with the schedule agreed with the client.
• Work across base custody suite and assigned region as needed; fixed shift roster of 4 on/4 off for full-time, or 2 on/8 off pattern for part-time.
• Deliver high-quality care and handle diverse clinical situations under pressure

This experience should demonstrate your ability to deliver high-quality care, work under pressure, and manage diverse clinical situations effectively.

You must have a Driving license

In collaboration with the Police, you'll serve in custody suites, delivering healthcare to detainees. We are dedicated to ensuring the safety of detainees with round-the-clock coverage in the custody suites, in line with a schedule agreed upon with our client.

The role requires the flexibility to work not only in your base Custody suite but across an assigned region in the Police Custody Suites and Force area

• Salary £41,500 per year
• £1000 bonus when completed 12 months service.
• Full time - this entails fixed shift working in a team rota pattern of 4 shifts on and 4 days off: 06:45 to 19:00 for 2-day shifts followed by 2-night shifts of 18:45 to 07:00, Rolling rota available 2 years in advance.
• Part time - this entails fixed shift working: 06:45 to 19:00 for day shifts and night shifts of 18:45 to 07:00, working in a team rota pattern of 2-day shifts on, 8 days off, 2 nights, 4 days off. Rolling rota available 2 years in advance.
• These patterns are contractually agreed with the customer: whereas there may be opportunities for a part-time or mutually agreed “Bank” contract, we require all employees to work full shifts, and part-time employees still need to carry out some Night shifts.
• Average estimated overtime £3500 per annum
• NMC/HCPC Registration paid

Requirements:

• RN, RGN or (RMN with dual registration):2 years post qualification - Band 5 minimum
• Paramedic 2 years post qualification.
• Must have RTW, Lived in UK British Passport or ILR for 3 years + no gaps out of country more than 3 months
• All candidates will be subject to Police Vetting
