Job summary

Sussex Police is recruiting Police Constables for forcewide roles. You will be trusted to manage risk and make difficult, scrutinized decisions using the National Decision Model and THRIVE. A strong commitment to attendance and public service is essential.

Candidates should have Home Office Force or BTP experience, completed probation, a full UK driving licence, and be UK residents. Flexible working options may be discussed during the recruitment process.

Qualifications

• Have completed probation and attained substantive rank with independent patrol status.
• Must pass vetting, occupational health and fitness checks after interview.
• UK residency of at least three years prior to application.
• Hold a full UK manual driving licence.
• No disciplinary, integrity or performance issues.
• Commitment to high attendance.
• Willingness to work across Surrey and Sussex police areas.
• Not currently applying to other forces.
• Declare any business interests and any reservist involvement.
• Tattoos must not be offensive under policy.
• No County Court Judgments or undischarged bankruptcy for at least three years.
• Experience as officer in a Home Office Force or British Transport Police (BTP).

• Act as a risk manager and respond to policing situations with sound judgment.
• Demonstrate commitment to attendance and public service excellence.
