Job description
Band 5 Podiatrists – Diabetes Foot Protection Service

We are recruiting qualified podiatrists with an interest in diabetic foot protection. The role is part of a new, integrated programme aimed at improving outcomes for the diabetic population in Barking, Dagenham, Havering and Redbridge.

Overview

As a member of the Diabetes Foot Protection Service (FPS) you will provide evidence‑based, comprehensive assessment, review and treatment to the local population at moderate and high risk. You will work within agreed local care pathways, embed clinical quality guidelines and contribute to service delivery in a community setting.

Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist and complex podiatry care for a range of acute and chronic foot pathologies.
  • Use first‑class assessment, diagnostic and communication skills to develop programmes of care and implement treatment plans.
  • Deliver comprehensive assessment, review and treatment and support the team by delivering this service to the local population at moderate and high risk.
  • Embed clinical quality guidelines and work within agreed local care pathways, codes of practice and professional standards.
  • Support the service by developing programmes of care and implementing treatment plans within community settings.
Qualifications & Development

Experienced podiatrists will provide specialist and complex podiatry care within community settings. New graduates applying for band 5 roles will be supported and mentored to enable professional development within the diabetic and high risk pathways.

  • High Cost Area Supplement – Outer London: 15% of the basic salary (minimum £4,714, maximum £5,941).
