Podiatrist

There is an exciting opportunity for someone to join the friendly Bury Podiatry service. The team is innovative and always striving to improve the service and our patients feedback is extremely important.

The team offers a person-centred approach to improve patients independence and wellbeing and go the extra mile to ensure compassionate and personalised patient care. In return you will join a supportive team environment and be provided with many personal development opportunities.

Main duties of the job
  • Have your own caseload working in clinics and doing domiciliary visits in. Predominantly based in community with occasional acute work.
  • Maintain a high standard of clinical work when carrying out podiatry procedures
  • Have good communication skills with patients, carers and colleagues and other healthcare professionals and support patient in getting better health outcomes
  • Rotate into different clinical pathways for variation once familiarised with systems and processes.
  • Ensure compliance in clinical governance framework.
  • Ensure compliance in mandatory and CPD training
  • Partake in appraisal with your line manager with realistic yearly objectives for yourself

Person Specification
Qualifications
  • Degree in Podiatry or equivalent
  • HCPC Registration or soon to have it if not qualified yet
Knowledge and Skills
  • Broad knowledge of routine and high risk patient care
  • Ability to complete neurological, vascular, nail surgery and woundcare assessments
  • Experience working within speciality area eg MSK High Risk, Nail surgery in Uni or placements
  • Good knowledge of biomechanics
  • Good IT skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft office applications
  • Capability to manage own workload without direct supervision
  • Knowledge of clinical governance
  • Knowledge of relevant NICE and clinical guidelines
  • Work effectively as part of a team
  • Supervision of junior staff and students
  • Post graduate or CPD training
  • Familiar with patient electronic record Systm 1
