Job summary

Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 4 Associate Practitioner to join the Point of Care Testing (POCT) team within Blood Sciences and Pathology Services. You will support implementation, maintenance and monitoring of POCT, ensuring timely, accurate results and training of staff.

You will work with clinical colleagues to uphold quality standards, assist with audits, QA and governance, and help roll out new POCT technologies across BSPS sites, including flexible working patterns.

Qualifications

• Experience with point-of-care testing (POCT) devices and quality control.
• Ability to train staff and assess competency.
• Knowledge of regulatory and governance standards in pathology.
• Excellent communication with clinical teams.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, operate and troubleshoot POCT devices per protocols.
• Manage stock, order consumables within budget, liaise with manufacturers.
• Communicate with clinical teams, conduct audits, monitor quality control.
• Train users, assess competency, maintain training records.
• Support new POCT technologies and IT connectivity.
• Ensure safety, report incidents and work flexible hours.
