Job summary

Consult is seeking an interim PMO Project Planner to lead and coordinate planning on a large government contract. The role is 6-12 months, with 3 days per week onsite in London or the West Country, and requires security clearance.

You will develop work breakdown structures, ensure plans align with programme objectives, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver expected benefits. This is a consultancy engagement offering planning excellence and stable delivery schedules.

New Interim Role - PMO - Project Planner

6-12 month contract

• Leading and coordinating project planning activities, working collaboratively with stakeholders to support delivery of programme outcomes and expected benefits.
• Promote planning excellence through the application of best practice methods, tools and reporting standards.
• Challenge and validate assumptions to ensure plans are realistic, achievable and aligned to programme objectives.
• Develop work breakdown structures, product descriptions, quality criteria and monitoring approaches to support effective delivery.
• Support optimisation of delivery schedules through resource levelling, resource smoothing and effective activity sequencing.
• Manage planning resources and support the identification, development and deployment of planning capability across the programme.
• Ensure stakeholder requirements, responsibilities and dependencies are accurately reflected within plans and reporting arrangements.
• Build effective relationships across programme, project management and operational teams, as well as with external stakeholders and suppliers, to develop integrated delivery plans.
