PMO - Jira maintenance and management
Location - Basingstoke
The role covers PMO support for the Global Connectivity account in FJ D&NS. An additional member of the PMO is required to support the Jira application which is used in change impacting and delivery within an account. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following
1. User Support and Training
- Maintaining user access for new starters and leavers.
- Delivering formal and informal training sessions, developing user guides, FAQs, and tutorials.
- Serving as the point of escalation for JIRA-related queries, troubleshooting issues, and coordinating with technical teams as needed.
2. Reporting and Analytics
- Designing and maintaining standard and custom dashboards for all users.
- Developing tailored and ad hoc reports to meet business requirements.
- Monitoring data and ensuring this is kept up to date by users.
3. Change Management and Continuous Improvement
- Working with the stakeholders, analysis, prioritization, and implementation of new requests for Jira project enhancements or modifications.
- Communicating JIRA updates.
- Facilitating regular updates and briefings on JIRA-related initiatives, changes, and best practices.
- Identify opportunities to further expand JIRA and replace BAU spreadsheets / manual copy and paste processes.
4. Documentation and Knowledge Management
- Maintaining up-to-date documentation on JIRA setups, processes, troubleshooting guides, and FAQs.
- Working with process owners to document their Process in Confluence.
- Recording all changes and enhancements for future reference and auditability.
The following skills and experience will be required in Jira
- Familiarisation with building queries and reports and willingness to learn Jira
- Reporting and Metrics – the ability to generate and interpret reports
- Troubleshooting common problems is essential.
- Understanding JIRAs integration with Confluence and EazyBi
- JIRA Query Language (JQL) for creating, modifying, and optimizing filters and dashboards, enabling tailored data views for diverse stakeholders.
- Identify bottlenecks and facilitate process improvements, fostering a culture of learning and adaptation.
- Working with the technical team to coordinate and plan the execution of changes.
- Bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating requirements and feedback into actionable items within JIRA.
- Educating team members on JIRA best practices enhances data quality and engagement. Develop guides, conduct workshops, or provide one-on-one support as needed.
- Oversee the process of proposing, reviewing, and implementing changes, using JIRA to document and communicate modifications.
- Guiding teams and stakeholders through process changes or tool updates requires empathy, patience, and persuasive communication.
- Maintaining up-to-date documentation in tools like Confluence, often linked to JIRA issues, ensures knowledge is preserved through transitions.
