PMLD Teaching Assistant

Tower Hamlets, East London

£95 - £100 per day (salary is dependent on experience and/or qualifications)

The School and Role

This Outstanding school based in Tower Hamlets, East London. A short 5 minute walk from Mile End Station are looking to recruit

Responsibilities

As a SEN Teaching Assistant you will be supporting pupils in their learning and provide general support to the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom

The school offers pupils an outstanding educational provision and a caring environment in which to reach their potential. They work with young people, aged 3-19 who have severe and complex learning difficulties and learners with an additional diagnosis of autism and/or physical/sensory difficulties.

Pupils flourish in their dedicated facilities and alongside strong professional teams, this enables them to achieve their mission and trail blaze holistic learning. From bright, spacious classrooms, fully equipped indoor and outdoor play areas, to our inviting hydrotherapy pools and purpose-built dance studio, learners are provided with the opportunity to explore their talents and shine in areas that they most enjoy.

Qualifications and Desired Skills
  • Have a passion to teach outside of a mainstream environment, and a commitment to experience the unique opportunities of a special school
  • Have a kind, caring, and compassionate nature which is used to plan and deliver inclusive, fun, and inspiring lessons
  • Must hold Child and Adult DBS
  • An ability to work as part of a team and flexible approach to support this schools requirements
  • Be able to do personal care
