JOB DESCRIPTION

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I am a 75-year-old living in the Taffs Well area with my daughter. I like to keep as active as possible at home and do enjoy getting out when possible, I tend to get quite claustrophobic if I stay in the house for long periods. I also try my best to do as much as I can myself and pride myself on my independence. I am also a chatty person and enjoy a good conversation.

I have recently been discharged from hospital after some serious injuries. I have poor mobility and use a crutch or a wheelchair when going out. But I do as much physio as possible at home.

PURPOSE OF JOB

To support me at home in the mornings, prepare some food and drink for me and to try and get me out of the house when possible.

HOURS OF WORK

10.5 hours per week available.

Hours to be worked every morning and potential for lunch or teatime call as well. This depends on other support I might have each day.

RATES OF PAY

£14.10 per hour

TASKS INVOLVED
  • Putting my compression stockings on and applying cream to my legs.
  • Preparing me breakfast, lunch and some drinks.
  • Potentially emptying urine bottles and cleaning these, although these are only used in the nights.
  • Supporting with my general morning routine.
  • Taking me out into the community when possible.
  • Supporting me with physio or movement around the house.
TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED
  • A kind and friendly person.
  • A reliable and punctual person.
  • Someone who can work flexible times.
  • Someone who understands the confidentiality of working in someone else’s home.
  • Someone happy to work in a home with a dog.
  • A chatty person who will build a relationship with me.
ABOUT THE JOB
