JOB DESCRIPTION

Part‑Time Personal Assistant

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I am a 21 year old boy living in the Hopkinstown area of Pontypridd with my mother and two sisters. I enjoy playing on my Xbox and watching YouTube videos. I have a diagnosis of Autism and selective mutism and can be expressionless which can make it hard to see what I like and dislike so there can be trial and error when doing new things. I will nod and shake head to reply and will text my mother yes and no to answer questions.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

I am looking for a PA to take me out into the community and to undertake in social activities together. This will help build my confidence and help me build a relationship outside of my family.

RATE(S) OF PAY

£13.80 per hour
40p per mile where applicable

HOURS OF WORK

I have 4 hours per week available and these can be used flexibly in the week. No weekends required.

TASKS CAN INCLUDE

Taking me out into the community.

Doing social activities with me such as:

  • Bowling
  • Darts
  • Pool

Working hard to build a relationship with me.

Helping me to increase my confidence.

Using initiative to think of new tasks. Prompting me to do things and taking charge of situation.

Willing to do trial and error to see what I like.

TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED
  • A patient person willing to put some time in with me.
  • A reliable and punctual person.
  • A car driver with business class insurance.
  • An outgoing person who will take the lead.
  • A person who is happy to work in a home with a cat.
  • Someone willing to build a relationship with me over time.

ABOUT THE JOB

This position is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS Disclosure (Police Check), which must be completed prior to the commencement of employment. The cost of this check will be covered by the Local Authority.

All necessary checks will be conducted to verify that any candidate has the legal right to work in the UK before employment begins.

Although this is a part‑time role, it is a legitimate position requiring the submission of a National Insurance number. Employment will commence under an initial trial period.

Wages will be paid on a monthly basis and appropriate holiday pay will be provided.
