Job description
Part-Time Personal Assistant

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I am a 50 year old man living in the Aberdare area with my father. Me and my father enjoy going out into the community to play bingo, attend church and to go out for food and Sunday lunch. When at home I like to watch TV, especially football and keeping up with the soaps. I do have limited mobility and use a stick to aid me when walking and can be prone to repeating myself when talking. I can also be inappropriate at times.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

I am looking for a PA to support me to access the community and take part in social activities and to provide my father with some respite. The PA will also support my mental wellbeing and help me to keep active and potentially take part in some exercise.

RATE(S) OF PAY

£13.80 per hour and 40p per mile where applicable.

HOURS OF WORK

I have 6 hours per week available and this will be used in two shifts per week. Flexibility on days and times but likely to be weekdays and not on a Thursday.

TASKS CAN INCLUDE
  • Taking me out in the community in the car to get out of the house and take part in social activities.
  • Going to cafes.
  • Going for a walk together.
  • Potentially trying the gym or another form of exercise.
  • Taking me shopping.
  • Some help with domestic tasks and general support around the house.
  • Helping me with admin and form filling.
  • Prompting me to complete some tasks when needed.
  • Some days might just be a chat and company in the house if we cannot get out.
TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED
  • A driver with business class insurance.
  • Someone in good health willing to be active with me.
  • A person with a good sense of humour and does not take offence easily.
  • A punctual and reliable person.
  • A kind and talkative person.
  • A person who respects the privacy and confidentiality of working in someone else’s home.
