JOB DESCRIPTION

Personal Assistant

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I am a 12 year old girl living in the Tonyrefail area. I love to be busy and being outdoors is my favourite place to be. I enjoy going to the parks, to the beach and any messy play, as I like to be get involved in activities. Water appeals to me and I love going swimming. After going out I like to have a McDonalds, staying in a routine works well for me.

I have been diagnosed with autism with complex needs and OCD, I am non-verbal I communicate with the odd words and I can direct you to what I want by showing you and leading you to things. I am prone to breaking things if I am triggered or due to my sensory issues, I don’t like the word no, but I will listen to people if situations are explained to me.

My safety is a priority at all times, I can tend to run off if I am distracted or see something that attracts me, I have no road sense so it’s a must my safety is paramount. This position requires 2:1 PA support.

PURPOSE OF JOB

To support and keep me safe in the community, this role is a 2:1 position.

PLACE OF WORK

Out in the community.

HOURS OF WORK
  • 3 hours term time (3 hours each)
  • 6 hours non term time (6 hours each)
RATE OF PAY

£13.25 per hour

TASKS INVOLVED
  • Going swimming.
  • Going out for walks and to the beach.
  • Trying new activities.
  • Playing in the mud and water play.
  • Having a McDonalds after a session.
  • PA to be comfortable with well-behaved dogs at service users home
TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED

ABOUT THE JOB

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid monthly basis and appropriate holiday pay given. The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority).The relevant checks will be carried out to ensure any applicant has the right to work in the UK.
