JOB DESCRIPTION
Personal Assistant

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I am an 11 year old male living in Penrhiwceibir with my family. I have a diagnosis of ASD and am non-verbal. I enjoy the company of adults, and although I cannot talk my cheeky personality often comes through and I like to do silly things to make people laugh like putting my shoes on the wrong feet! I do struggle with being around lots of people if it’s a situation I don\'t like, and this can sometimes cause meltdowns so I need someone who is patient and is able to help me calm down. My favourite things to do are go swimming, going on the train, being driven around, and eating McDonalds!

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The purpose of the job is to allow me to access the community while ensuring I am safe at all times as I have no awareness of danger and do have a habit of running off.

HOURS OF WORK

I have 6 hours per week 2:1 (3 hours per PA) term time and 24 hours 2:1 during the holidays (12 hours per PA)

RATES OF PAY

£13.50 per hour

TASKS CAN INCLUDE

Personal care, changing of nappy

Social outings, community activities

Ensure I am safe at all times as I have no sense of danger

Any other reasonable tasks

ABOUT THE JOB

This will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period of six months will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid monthly on return of a payslip provided by the Centre for Independent Living. You will receive appropriate holidays and holiday pay. This post is subject to an enhanced police check (DBS) and training may be required if identified by the employer.
