A Little About Myself

I am a 50 year old man living in the Beddau area of Pontypridd. I am a friendly and previously very outgoing person but I am now limited by physical pain and surgically imposed disability caused by failed back operations. I still have a desire for increased mobility and function but I do need assistance with daily domestic tasks which I can find a struggle. I underwent a spinal procedure this year but this has resulted in some shooting pains which currently makes driving an issue. I enjoy watching football and support Man United football club. I also enjoy boxing. I like watching TV and enjoy dramas, I also like to read.

Purpose of the Job

To help me with daily domestic tasks around the house and potentially build up to doing social activities.

Hours of Work

13 hours per week which would ideally be in 2 to 4 shifts. However, there is some flexibility here which can be discussed at interview.

Rates of Pay

£13.50 per hour plus 40p per mile where applicable.

Tasks Can Include

• Helping me to cook and prepare meals.
• Putting clothes in and out of the washing machine.
• Helping me to hang the washing on the line and to bring it back in.
• Helping me with some light household cleaning such as hoovering, polishing etc.
• Other domestic tasks that may come up.
• Potentially building up to social activities such as short walks or swimming.
• Taking me shopping.

About the Job

This will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period of six months will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid monthly on return of a payslip provided by the Centre for Independent Living. You will receive appropriate holidays and holiday pay. This post is subject to an enhanced police check (DBS) and training may be required if identified by the employer.
