JOB DESCRIPTION

Personal Assistant



A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF



I am a 26-year-old female living in the Gilfach Goch area. I am a very active person as I love attending Zumba classes and have an aspiration to build up confidence to attend the Gym. I also enjoy taking my dog Pepper out for a walk and going to the cinema. I am autistic and have anxiety although I enjoy my own space, I need support to get out and about to do things I enjoy and be able to promote my independence through the support of a PA.



PURPOSE OF THE JOB



The reason for the position is to support me at home, out in the community and allow respite for my family. To assist me to do activities/ outings of my own choice that I enjoy.



HOURS OF WORK



10 hours per week

4 hours to be worked on a Tuesday to help me volunteer in the dogs trust.

the rest would be used flexibly



RATES OF PAY



£12.60 per hour



40p per mile where applicable



TASKS INVOLVED



Taking me to activities of my choice such as Zumba, Cinema, Gym
Sitting in my home having a chat
Being mindful over my well being
Develop life skills as I have no sense of road danger
Support me in the activities of my choice



TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED



Reliable/ Punctual: this is a must as I like to have a routine as I plan everything I do in advance.
Considerate/Caring/Trustworthy
Friendly/Chatty: this would be good as I am generally non-communicative and it can take me a while to feel comfortable with someone new.
Confident/ Proactive: I struggle to come up with ideas and make choices of my own.
Confidentiality
Experience: I would like someone to have an understanding of disabilities/ anxiety but this is not essential.
Car Driver: Own car required with clean driving license.
Non smoker
Lover of dogs



ABOUT THE JOB

This will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period of six months will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid monthly on return of a payslip provided by the Centre for Independent Living. You will receive appropriate holidays and holiday pay. This post is subject to an enhanced police check (DBS) and training may be required if identified by the employer.
