Plumber / Multi-Trade Operative

Location: Bracknell, Berkshire

Salary: £37,425 per annum

About the Opportunity

Join one of the region's largest housing associations dedicated to providing safe, comfortable, and well‑maintained homes for our residents in the Bracknell area. We are currently seeking an experienced and proactive Plumber / Multi‑Trade Operative to join our in‑house repairs team.

This role is vital to our commitment to high‑quality service, focusing on reactive repairs across our diverse property portfolio in and around Bracknell.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out routine and emergency plumbing and basic multi‑trade maintenance and repairs within occupied social housing properties in the Bracknell area.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve a variety of plumbing faults, including leaks, blockages, and fixture repairs.
  • Undertake basic secondary trade tasks (e.g., minor patch plastering, tiling, carpentry) necessary to complete repair jobs efficiently.
  • Ensure all work is executed to a high standard, adhering strictly to all current Health & Safety regulations and company procedures.
  • Act as a professional representative of the housing association, providing courteous and effective communication with residents regarding their repairs and concerns.
  • Collaborate effectively with supervisors, colleagues, and the scheduling team to ensure timely and seamless service delivery.
Requirements
  • Qualification: NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing (or equivalent recognised trade qualification/experience).
  • Experience: Demonstrable experience in plumbing maintenance and repairs, ideally within a social housing, local authority, or facilities management environment.
  • Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving abilities, coupled with competence in undertaking basic multi‑trade repairs.
  • Proven ability to manage a workload effectively and complete tasks to a high standard with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills for clear communication with residents and colleagues.
  • Must hold a current, full UK driving licence.
