Job summary

Gov Facilities Services Limited (GFSL) is seeking a Mechanical Engineer (Level 3) to join the team at HMP Woodhill in Milton Keynes. The role focuses on maintaining heating, plumbing and building services across the site to ensure safe, compliant operation.

The successful candidate will hold an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Plumbing/Heating with at least two years' experience in commercial/industrial systems and knowledge of Water Regulations and Legionella (L8) controls.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent plumbing/heating qualification.
• Minimum two years' experience as a plumber or in an equivalent role.
• Familiar with Water Regulations and Legionella (L8) requirements and health & safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair commercial/industrial heating, water, and building services systems.
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary facilities team to ensure safe, compliant operation.
• Support ongoing preventive maintenance and safety checks in a prison environment.

Mechanical Engineer (Level 3) Location: HMP Woodhill- Tattenhoe Street, Milton Keynes MK44DA Salary: £44,688.51- Plus 5% Shift Allowance for weekend working Contract: Full time/Permanent We are seeking an NVQ level 3 qualified Plumber to join our team at HMP Woodhill, a High Category & Adult/Male prison- as a Level 3 Mechanical Engineer. We are looking for a Plumber to join us as a Mechanical Engineer with one of the following NVQ Level 3 qualifications, along with a suitable combination of skills:

• Plumbing & Domestic Heating -- 6189, 5962, 6032
• Heating & Ventilation -- 6288-31, 6188, 6088, 6018
• Mechanical Engineering Services / Plumbing -- 6009, 6019
• Engineering Maintenance -- 214 EAL
• Diploma in Plumbing and Heating -- 603/#####/9 or 600#####5/2 BPEC - Level 3 NVQ Diploma in
• Domestic Plumbing and Heating -- 60#####63/2 ETA - Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Engineering Maintenance -- 6#####253/X

Other Requirements

• Experience working on commercial or industrial heating, water, or building services systems
• Minimum two years' experience working as a plumber or in an equivalent role
• Familiar with and able to work to Water Supply Regulations and Control of Legionella (L8) requirements
• Good working knowledge of planned preventive maintenance (PPM) operations and health and safety requirements
