Job summary

Axis CLC Group is seeking a skilled Plumber to join the Essex Maintenance Team, delivering responsive repairs and maintenance across the Estuary Housing portfolio. You’ll lead with plumbing expertise while supporting multi-trade tasks to ensure high-quality, resident-focused repairs.

The role covers plumbing works, tiling, carpentry, plastering and decorating, with real-time work recording via the Axis mobile app and collaboration with supervisors to ensure safe, first-time fixes and excellent

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Plumbing.
• City & Guilds in Plumbing or equivalent.
• Valid Unvented Hot Water Systems Certificate.
• Experience across tiling, carpentry, plastering and decorating.
• Full UK driving licence and a well-maintained tool kit.
• Experience in social housing repairs and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Carry out plumbing works including leak detection and hot/cold water repairs.
• Install bathrooms and kitchens and replace sanitary ware.
• Support multi-trade repairs such as tiling, carpentry, plastering and decorating.
• Record work in real time via the Axis mobile app.
• Collaborate with supervisors and administration teams for efficient service delivery.
• Complete risk assessments and follow health and safety procedures on every job.
• Support apprentices and uphold Axis’s high standards of customer service.
• Work across occupied properties and respond to out-of-hours calls when required.

The Role

We’re looking for a skilled Plumber to join our Essex Maintenance Team, delivering responsive repairs and maintenance services across the Estuary Housing portfolio.

You’ll lead with plumbing expertise but also support wider multi-trade tasks to ensure high-quality, well-rounded repairs. You’ll deliver a reliable, resident-focused service with a focus on first-time fixes and professional standards.

What You’ll Do

• Carry out plumbing works including leak detection, hot and cold water repairs, immersion heaters, sanitary ware replacements, bathroom and kitchen installations, and general plumbing maintenance.

• Support multi-trade repairs including:

• Wall and floor tiling

• 1st and 2nd fix carpentry

• Patch plastering and making good

• Painting and decorating to a professional standard

• Record work accurately in real time via the Axis mobile app.

• Collaborate with supervisors, planners and administration teams to ensure efficient service delivery.

• Complete risk assessments and follow health and safety procedures on every job.

• Support apprentices and uphold Axis’s high standards of customer service.

• Work across occupied residential properties and participate in emergency callout or out-of-hours support when required.

About You

You’re a reliable, adaptable tradesperson who takes pride in delivering high-quality work across multiple trades. You communicate effectively with residents, work collaboratively with colleagues, and are committed to maintaining safe, warm and well-maintained homes.

Requirements

• Up to £38,325 depending on experience

• NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds in Plumbing (or equivalent)

• Valid Unvented Hot Water Systems Certificate

• Experience across multiple trades including tiling, carpentry, plastering and decorating

• Ability to safely isolate and test electrical components

• Full UK driving licence and well-maintained tool kit

• Experience within social housing repairs and maintenance

• Strong health and safety awareness with excellent attention to detail
