A local council in England is seeking a Housing Repairs Plumber to carry out essential repairs and maintenance in social housing. This mobile role ensures properties meet Decent Housing Standards. Candidates must have relevant plumbing qualifications and a strong understanding of Health and Safety regulations. The position includes vehicle use and the opportunity for on-call duties.

The Housing Standards Maintenance team is responsible for ensuring the Council's social housing portfolio of circa 8,400 dwellings is maintained to meet all current statutory, regulatory, and legislative standards.
The core focus of this role is to carry out essential repairs and maintenance works on social housing stock to ensure they meet the Decent Housing Standards, complying with current regulatory standards and timescales.
This is a customer focused mobile role completing day to day repairs/ maintenance in our tenanted properties. All our trades operate autonomously using mobile technology to receive all their works.
The role will come with a Vehicle, and you will be responsible for carrying out routine and daily vehicle safety checks as required and must ensure compliance relating to the vehicle use and its maintenance.
You must have the relevant qualificationsand experience in domestic plumbing operations. You will be familiar with materials, tools and machinery used in the repair and maintenance to carry out your duties. You must always be able to communicate efficiently and courteously at appropriate levels.
You must have knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety and of Building Regulations.
You will bring a good working knowledge of other trades associated with the primary area of experience, such as, but not exclusive to plumbing.
You will be required to participate as part of an on-call team, providing an Out of Hours Emergency Service on a rota basis.
