The Yard in Dundee is seeking a Playworker to plan and deliver inclusive, social, recreational and adventure play activities for children with disabilities and/or additional support needs. You will engage children in creative play and adapt activities to suit ages, interests and abilities.

You will work as part of a supportive team, helping families feel valued within an inclusive community, with opportunities for training and development.

Qualifications

• Experience facilitating indoor and outdoor play and leading recreational activities.
• Understanding of the value of play and working with children and young people with disabilities.
• Ability to work flexibly and creatively as an individual and in a team.
• Experience facilitating social activities for young people.

As a Playworker, your daily routine will be shaped by the diverse needs of the people you support. You will help plan, deliver and develop recreational activities, engaging children in creative play, ensuring activities are appropriate for their ages, interests and abilities.

About you

This job is for you if you have:

• Knowledge and experience of facilitating indoor and outdoor play opportunities and environments and leading recreational activities
• A demonstrable understanding of, and experience in, the value of play and working with children and young people with disabilities
• A proven ability to work in a flexible and creative manner, as an individual and as part of a team
• Knowledge and experience of facilitating young people's social activities
