A healthcare provider in Cambridgeshire is seeking a Play Assistant to support children's play activities in a hospital setting. The role requires a level 3 childcare qualification and a commitment to fostering positive emotional needs in children. Responsibilities include maintaining play areas and offering developmentally appropriate activities. The position entails cross-site work at Peterborough or Hinchingbrooke for a three-month rotation.
As a Play Assistant working within our Trust the expectations within your role are to be motivated and enthusiastic in providing child focused play with an awareness of child development and the emotional needs of a child in hospital.
To meet the challenges of this post you must hold a level 3 childcare qualification.
The Play Team works on Amazon Ward, a 30 bedded children ward, providing play, distraction and preparation, covering Children's Outpatients, Paediatric Assessment unit and a Day case area.
