Job summary

National Grid plc is seeking a Platform Tooling Analyst in Warwick on a permanent basis, operating with a hybrid working model. The role involves administering platform and SaaS tooling, handling access, licences and user support across Electric Transmission, and supporting renewal activities with suppliers.

You will contribute to governance, data handling, and tooling improvements while working with product teams and platform owners to drive service standards and operational control.

National Grid is hiring a Platform Tooling Analyst on a permanent basis. This position is based in Warwick and operates under a hybrid working model.

What you'll do

• Act as a skilled individual contributor for platform and SaaS tooling administration, ensuring reliable access, effective licence control and consistent user enablement across Electric Transmission.
• Manage day-to-day tooling requests, provide first-line and routine second-line support, maintain high-quality tooling data, and support renewal, supplier and service improvement activities.
• Administer a defined portfolio of platform and SaaS tools as a subject matter practitioner, ensuring access, roles, permissions and licences are controlled in line with agreed standards and processes.
• Independently triage and resolve user requests, including access changes, licence queries, basic configuration updates and first-line or routine second-line tooling support, escalating complex issues where appropriate.
• Maintain accurate records of users, licences, roles, permissions, renewals and tooling usage, using this information to support operational control, reporting, audit readiness and renewal planning.
• Provide practical guidance to users, product teams and platform owners, helping them understand tooling processes, service standards, licence constraints and effective ways of working.
• Support licence renewals and related commercial activities by analysing usage, validating demand, preparing renewal inputs and engaging with suppliers or commercial teams as required.
• Apply and improve agreed governance, access, security and data handling controls, identifying risks, exceptions and opportunities to improve tooling administration and user experience.

About you

• Experience supporting licence, subscription or renewal activity, including gathering usage data, validating demand, preparing renewal inputs and identifying opportunities to optimise licence allocation.
• Relevant experience in tooling administration, service operations, IT, data, digital platforms or SaaS support in an enterprise environment.
• Experience with SaaS administration, licence management, service desk processes, supplier-facing support or operational governance activities.
• Strong practical experience administering business, platform or SaaS tools, including user access, roles, permissions, configuration data and licence allocation.
• Ability to work independently within defined processes, exercising judgement on routine and non-routine requests and escalating risks, exceptions or complex issues appropriately.
• Clear communicator with the ability to guide users, product teams and suppliers, translating needs or issues into practical tooling actions and service improvements.
• Customer-focused, with experience handling user requests, support queries, service communications and engagement activity in a structured and professional way.
• Good working knowledge of licence management, renewal cycles, supplier engagement and the importance of usage, demand and commercial control.
• Confident using data to monitor usage, identify trends, support reporting, evidence decisions and inform renewal, access or adoption activity.
• Experienced in applying governance, access, security and data handling principles relevant to enterprise tooling, including the ability to identify and escalating control issues.
• Able to contribute to continuous improvement by identifying process gaps, improving administrative controls and supporting adoption of standard tooling practices.
