Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced engineering leader to drive integration and platform initiatives. You will shape the architecture and roadmap with senior engineers, build reusable components, and ensure reliable messaging across the estate.

Lead and develop teams to foster ownership and a strong engineering culture while balancing stability with transformation in a high-volume environment. Strong collaboration with vendors and platform partners is essential.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience in integration or platform engineering.
• Hands-on experience with IBM MQ, Azure Service Bus or similar messaging tech.
• Knowledge of ACE, MuleSoft, Azure Functions or Logic Apps.
• Experience with reliability engineering and incident management.
• Ability to balance operational stability with transformation in a high-volume environment.

Responsibilities

• Be accountable for engineering excellence across integration teams from tech direction to service reliability.
• Lead and develop engineers to foster ownership and strong engineering culture.
• Define architecture and roadmap for the integration platform with Principal Engineers and Architects.
• Build platform capabilities including self-service integration patterns and reusable components.
• Maintain operational excellence across the messaging backbone with stability and fast incident resolution.
• Drive reliability improvements and reduce incident rates and operational burden.
• Partner with other engineering leaders to ensure consistency in patterns and ways of working.
• Own vendor relationships and third-party delivery focusing on outcomes and platform performance.
• Balance priorities across stability, platform modernisation, and technical debt reduction.
