Job summary

Trust In SODA is seeking a Managing & Lead Platform Engineer to steer a major Kubernetes-driven transformation for a UK government–backed project. You will lead a team, drive IaC, CI/CD, and observability practices in production.

You’ll mentor engineers, align with stakeholders, and ensure scale and reliability as the platform migrates to the cloud. Hybrid working, AWS certifications and ongoing learning are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience leading Kubernetes/platform engineering teams on large-scale DevOps projects.
• Expert in IaC using Terraform and Ansible.
• Strong CI/CD experience with GitOps, Github Actions, Jenkins.
• Familiar with observability tools (OTel, Dynatrace, Grafana).

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a platform engineering team for a high-profile Kubernetes project.
• Own governance, technical direction and delivery of platform improvements.
• Collaborate with clients and government stakeholders to align on goals and milestones.
• Drive scalability, reliability and cost-efficiency of the platform.

The project aims to completely revolutionise the way the UK Government operates online and will create numerous public benefits including cutting waiting times, vastly improved CX and cost savings in the millions of pounds.

They are now looking for a Managing & Lead Platform Engineer to join their team and help with the ongoing support, optimisation and scaling of this project. Their ideal candidate would be an expert within:

• IaC (Terraform, Ansible)
• CI/CD (GitOps, Github Actions, Jenkins)
• Observability (OTel, Dynatrace, Grafana)
• Leadership / Line Management
