Y TREE in London is seeking a Platform Engineering Leader to architect and run scalable AWS platforms and high-availability Kubernetes clusters. You will lead a small team, drive delivery, mentorship, and architectural direction within a defined operating framework.

The role combines hands-on review with strategic direction, balancing rapid delivery with reliability and security. The successful candidate will thrive in a hybrid London environment and complex financial tech-related projects.

Qualifications

• Has operated production AWS and Kubernetes environments at scale.
• Has worked in a fast-paced start-up, scale-up or similarly dynamic environment.
• Has led projects spanning multiple technical disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team’s operating rhythm, coach performance, and development planning.
• Own the team’s capacity, trade-offs and delivery commitments.
• Act as Incident Lead for the team’s services and maintain communication cadence.
• Own continuous delivery tooling and drive improvements to platform capability.
• Architect and deliver scalable AWS platforms and Kubernetes clusters.
• Build and document platforms as code using Terraform/OpenTofu and ensure governance.
