The Role:

We are looking for a Platform Specialist in our Geointelligence team. Our mission is to turn data into insight across near-real time Earth observation and environmental data for geospatial imagery, ground stations, enterprise geospatial systems and defence programs. • Linux Administration: Manage Linux systems (filesystems, permissions, kernel configuration, networking, user/group management); install, configure, and support Linux-based OS distributions (RedHat Enterprise Linux, Oracle Linux, Rocky Linux).
  • Automation: Implement automation with Terraform, Ansible, and SaltStack; write shell scripts using Bash.
  • Audio/Visual and Surveillance Systems: Install and configure wall displays, AV switching/distribution, surveillance cameras and recording systems.
  • Other Responsibilities – Core Services and Tools: Implement and troubleshoot DNS, NTP, and SIEM tools; configure logging, event forwarding, audit logging, and alerting.
  • Storage: Install and configure enterprise network storage arrays (e.g., NetApp); administer block and file storage volumes (iSCSI, SMB/NFS).
  • Virtualization: Manage vSphere and vCenter clusters.
  • Windows Desktop Support: Configure and apply group policies and write PowerShell scripts; harden Windows desktops to STIG standards.

Job Requirements:

  • Degree or diploma in computer systems, computer science, information systems, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • Ability to work in air-gapped environments and with highly secure and isolated systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to learn constantly.
  • Experience with multi-vendor, heterogeneous system environments.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform hands-on work installing, configuring, and supporting hardware.
  • Strong documentation and diagramming skills.

Security Requirements:

  • Must obtain and hold security clearance at the SECRET level.
  • Must pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP).

We are an equal opportunity employer prizing diversity, integrity and collaboration, and we are committed to growing MDA’s leadership in space. If you require assistance or reasonable accommodation due to a disability during the application or recruiting process, please notify us.

Salary: The compensation range for this position is $95,000 - $130,000 annually. The specific compensation offered will be based on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
