Platform Engineer – Internal Developer Experience

Job summary

Neo4j is expanding its Software Delivery team and seeking an ambitious Engineer to join us in building an internal developer platform to boost engineering efficiency. You will work across Aura and other engineering groups to empower developers with self-service tooling, streamline workflows, and accelerate application delivery.

The role focuses on platform engineering, automation, and tooling to reduce cognitive overhead while delivering high-quality software and robust production readiness.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Kubernetes built-in resources (Pods, Deployments, StatefulSets)
• Experience with the operator pattern and extending the Kubernetes API via Custom Resources
• Experience using Golang for multiple projects
• Knowledge of the Golang build/packaging system
• Familiarity with modern CI practices
• Experience configuring CI/CD pipelines from merged PRs to production (K8s)
• Experience building and running Docker images
• Interest in solving developer pain points with tooling

Responsibilities

• Improve build system speed and quality via CI runners and build tooling
• Work with ArgoCD and shape future software delivery methods
• Contribute to Kubernetes as a Control-Plane for resource management lifecycles
• Build and improve developer tooling and scaffolding
• Provide testing frameworks to simplify component testing
• Enhance CD platform with Argo Rollouts for production testing
• Promote modern software development practices like feature flags and testing in production
