The Role

We are seeking a Junior/Mid-Level Platform Engineer to help us continue driving innovation and making an impact on the reliability, performance, and scalability of Farfetch''s industry-leading technology. You must have a DevOps mindset and be passionate about automation, scalability, and infrastructure reliability. In this role, you will be co-responsible for the maintenance of several technologies that are crucial to the success of FARFETCH''s business.

What You''ll Do
  • Design, develop, implement, and manage cloud-native infrastructure and tooling that empowers our development teams.
  • Contribute to building self-service capabilities, abstracting complex infrastructure layers, and promoting engineering autonomy.
  • Operate and maintain a wide range of infrastructure components, including Linux and Kubernetes-based systems, using automated processes and pipelines.
  • Contribute to our culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for increased scalability, cost efficiency, and reliability.
  • Collaborate closely with other engineering teams to understand their needs and provide solutions that accelerate their productivity.
Who You Are
  • Graduate or higher in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or have equivalent practical experience.
  • A strong interest in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
  • Ability to develop using programming languages such as Python or Golang.
  • Familiar with the principles of the software development lifecycle and the concepts of infrastructure-as-code.
  • Familiar with CI/CD pipelines and comfortable working with related tools/technologies (e.g. Jenkins, Git, ArgoCD).
  • Hands-on experience with containerized environments and container orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • A strong interest in one or more of the following domains:
  • Cloud Infrastructure: Provisioning and Configuration Management (e.g., Azure, Terraform, Saltstack)
  • Networking: Traffic Management, Load Balancing, CDN, and DNS (e.g., HAProxy, Kong, CloudFlare, Firewall)
  • Software Development Lifecycle: Automating builds, tests, and deployments (e.g., Jenkins, ArgoCD, Artifactory)
  • Have a security-first mindset and an interest in compliance achievement.
  • Proactive, creative, and a great team player.
  • Good written and verbal English communication skills.
