Job summary

Seccl is seeking a Platform engineer to shape and evolve the cloud platform that underpins our investment products. The role sits in the Cloud Resilience team, empowering squads to build and run their own services in a primarily AWS environment.

The ideal candidate loves solving engineering problems, treats the cloud platform as a product, and collaborates with Node.js/TypeScript engineers to deliver scalable, secure, and observable systems with Terraform-managed infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a platform engineer in regulated environments.
• Fluent in JavaScript/TypeScript applications.
• Experience with MongoDB/Postgres databases and designing for scale and resilience.
• Strong observability mindset with actionable alerts.
• Proficiency in AWS best practices, Terraform, and CI/CD tooling like GitHub Actions.
• Experience owning platform-level outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Architect scalable, secure infrastructure in AWS using Terraform.
• Design cloud-native solutions using MongoDB, Lambda, API Gateway, and other AWS services with a strong focus on serverless.
• Contribute to incident response, production readiness, and reliability initiatives across engineering squads.
• Enhance observability and platform insight through actionable alerting and data visibility using Datadog.
• Continuously improving CI/CD processes with GitHub Actions, reducing friction in delivery pipelines.
• Collaborate with software engineers (working in Node.js/TypeScript) to ensure secure, performant, and resilient applications.
• Mentor engineers and champion DevOps culture and best practices across teams.
