Wayve in the United Kingdom is seeking a Platform Engineer to build, operate, and improve our cloud platforms and infrastructure behind software development and release systems.

You will work with a team to maintain reliable, scalable, and secure cloud environments, with opportunities to deepen expertise in cloud infrastructure, automation, and platform engineering. The role emphasizes collaboration, reliability, and security in a fast-growing embdedded AI context.

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of experience in DevOps or cloud infrastructure.
  • Hands-on experience with at least one cloud platform such as Azure, AWS or GCP.
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform or Ansible).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD systems and cloud-based deployment pipelines.
  • Basic understanding of networking, cloud architecture, and system reliability.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Desirable: containerisation and orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Desirable: monitoring/observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana or ELK.
  • Desirable: Linux systems and shell scripting.
  • Desirable: programming/scripting (Python, Bash, Go).
  • Desirable: cloud security best practices.
  • Desirable: experience with large-scale or distributed systems.

Responsibilities

  • Build, maintain, and improve cloud infrastructure, primarily Azure, to support development, testing, and production environments.
  • Contribute to Infrastructure-as-Code implementations for consistent provisioning.
  • Support and improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment systems in cloud environments.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise cloud systems for performance, reliability, and cost.
  • Assist in managing containerised workloads with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Implement and maintain observability for logging, metrics, and alerting to monitor health and incidents.
  • Collaborate with engineering to ensure infrastructure meets application requirements.
  • Improve security, access control, and compliance within cloud environments.
  • Participate in incident response and root cause analysis for infra issues.
  • Continue to automate operations across infra and deployment workflows.

Job description

Salary: £60,000 - 60,000 per year

Requirements:
