Job summary

HelloKindred in the United Kingdom is seeking a Platform Engineer to partner with the Data Engineering CoE Lead in establishing and scaling a Data Engineering Centre of Excellence. The role will drive engineering standards, platform governance, technology strategy, and engineering excellence across the organization.

The position is hybrid (2-3 days per week in the office) and BPSS eligible, with a contract end date of December 18, 2026 and potential for extension.

Qualifications

• Experience in data engineering and Centre of Excellence environments.
• Experience establishing engineering standards, governance frameworks and operating models.
• Experience evaluating data engineering frameworks, tools and emerging technologies through PoCs.
• Knowledge of reference architectures, reusable engineering patterns and guardrails.
• Experience defining adoption roadmaps for engineering frameworks and best practices.
• Experience establishing and measuring engineering KPIs, quality metrics and maturity assessments.
• Experience working with CDP and EDP environments.
• Strong understanding of data engineering strategy, platform governance and technology strategy.
• Experience working with vendor partners and measuring engineering effectiveness.
• Eligible to complete BPSS checks.

• Drive alignment between CDP and EDP under a unified data engineering strategy.
