Location

UK, Europe & Africa: London (Hybrid – 1-3 days onsite per month)

Overview

BAE Systems Digital Intelligence is home to 4,500 experts in digital, cyber and intelligence. The role involves developing and deploying software solutions to high‑profile defence customers.

Responsibilities

• Analyse software requirements to define and document platform creation and management
• Use source control, continuous integration and other development tools
• Follow industry standard disciplines and best practices
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design and ship new features
• Triage vulnerabilities against project risk
• Troubleshoot and debug issues on various platforms
• Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and consistency

Qualifications

Essential

• Strong experience within a Cloud Platform, including networking and infrastructure management tools
• Experience of various security features and implementations
• Experience using Terraform and Helm for Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Experience with containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience working within both Linux and Windows operating systems

Additional

• Experience deploying infrastructure as code and managing remote Terraform state files; knowledge of Azure landing zone and architecture security

Desirable

• Strong experience within the Microsoft Azure cloud platform
• Experience of initial platform development from inception (Day Zero)
• Experience applying a GitOps approach to platform development
• Experience in delivering platform/cloud agnostic solutions
