Job summary

Speechify is a globally distributed team building text-to-speech products that help people learn and read more effectively. We’re looking for a Backend Engineer who can design and maintain scalable APIs and services that power payments, subscriptions, auth, analytics, and new products.

You’ll own the backend API landscape, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to architecture decisions that improve performance and user experience in a fast-paced, autonomous environment,

Qualifications

Proven backend development experience with TS/Node.
Experience with GCP and knowledge of AWS/Azure.
Prior experience with Docker and containerized deployments.
Kubernetes deployment experience.
Strong collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain robust APIs including public TTS API, internal APIs like Payment, Subscription, Auth and Consumption Tracking, ensuring they meet business and scalability requirements
Oversee the full backend API landscape, enhancing and optimizing for performance and maintainability
Collaborate on B2B solutions, focusing on customization and integration needs for enterprise clients
Work closely with cross-functional teams to align backend architecture with overall product strategy and user experience
