Job summary

Experis is seeking a Platform Architect to lead the evolution of the Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) in London. You will drive platform engineering, FinOps, and CI/CD automation, delivering value through cloud, Databricks, and Azure expertise.

The role focuses on modernization, governance, cost efficiency, and self-service capabilities, with a 4-month umbrella contract based in London.

Qualifications

• SFIA level 6 or above.
• Proven experience architecting large-scale cloud-based data platforms.
• Strong expertise in Databricks architecture and platform administration.
• Hands-on experience with Azure cloud services.
• Deep understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, IaC, and automation frameworks.
• Experience implementing FinOps practices and cloud cost optimization.
• Strong governance, security and compliance knowledge.
• Experience leading platform transformation and modernization programmes.
• Stakeholder management across technical and business functions.
• Technical skills in Azure and Terraform.

Responsibilities

• Lead platform modernization initiatives aligned with technology and data strategies.
• Design and implement Databricks Serverless capabilities across the platform.
• Establish governance and monitoring frameworks for Serverless consumption and ROI.
• Establish workload governance and FinOps operating model.
• Drive enterprise-wide FinOps adoption across the EDP ecosystem.
• Define cost accountability and implement cost visibility and reporting.
• Design tagging standards, policy controls, and automated cost governance in pipelines.
• Architect the expansion of the Enterprise Data Platform to support POSIT/RStudio.
• Develop a consolidated analytics and data science platform on Databricks.
• Enable notebook-based development, MLOps, API integrations, and deployment.

We are seeking a Platform Architect to lead the evolution of our Enterprise Data Platform (EDP), driving platform engineering, FinOps, DevOps automation, and data engineering capabilities across the organization. This is a 4-month contract based in London, with 3 days a week in the office, and an umbrella rate of up to £524.40 per day. The role offers the opportunity to combine strategic architecture leadership with hands‑on cloud, Databricks, Azure, and automation expertise to deliver measurable business value, modernise our EDP landscape, and improve operational and cost efficiency.
